Busy 4th of July weekend

Megan and I stayed busy all weekend and were pretty beat by Monday evening. It started Saturday morning with a glider ride from Soar Minden. We took the Emerald Bay flight which took us across the lake to Emerald bay and Desolation Wilderness. It lasted about an hour. The view was awesome and I had a lot of fun, but Megan got a little sick. Luckily she waited until we were back on the ground to vomit. The coolest part for me was when we dropped down quickly and flew just above the tree tops at Genoa peak.

After the flight we headed back to Reno and then out to my parents' house for a BBQ for my grandma's and my birthday. We played Bocci ball and relaxed for most of the afternoon and into the evening. My parents kept the party going for over 12 hours to 1 AM.

Baby and I went running on Sunday morning from Virginia Lake out 4.5 miles and back. By the time we got back, it was starting to get really hot and Baby was pooped. Megan was at home enjoying one of her rare opportunities to sleep in. Around 1 PM, we headed up to Stampede with Ty, Soupha and my dad. Ty, Megan, my dad and I wakeboarded in a little cove where the water was pretty decent compared to the rest of the lake, which was really choppy. After we wore ourselves out there, we pulled the boat out and drove to Tahoe where we met Rachel and her friend, Jenny. We all went out on the boat and headed towards King's Beach from Lake Forest. King's beach had an awesome fireworks show. We took some pictures but I don't know how they turned out yet. On the drive back to Lake Forest I managed to soak Ty and Soupha and their sleeping bag when waves coming from all directions rocked the boat and filled the bow with water. After about 15 minutes, I got smart and filled the ballast tanks (located in the rear of the boat), which kept the bow out of the water. Somehow I also managed to ding up the prop on the way back into the launch.

We were all pretty tired by the time we arrived at Judy's cabin just outside of Tahoe City so we just crashed although there was talk of watching a few episodes of 24, Ty, Soupha, Megan and I's latest addiction. Monday morning we got up early and headed to Fanny Bridge in Tahoe city where Jenny and Rachel left us and Dan Johnson, Dan Redman and his girlfriend Becky met us to float down the river. Megan and Soupha were really excited that their new floating coolers from Costco worked so well. It was a relaxing float down the river with no dry spots forcing us to get out and drag our rafts like last year.

Anyway, I'm tired again just thinking about all the stuff we got to do this weekend. And this next weekend should be just as busy with the run on Friday and Saturday and our BBQ in our newly landscaped yard on Sunday.
